Apple blossoms are one of my favorite flowers. This small flower is a sign that spring has arrived in the upper Midwest. I use photographs as a reference for all my paintings and the day I set-up this still life the sun was creating exceptionally beautiful shadows. I took photographs in as many ways as possible. The delicate petals have such a beautiful translucent color.
